Yang Mao-Draayer has been an MS neurologist and physician scientist since 2005. She completed both MD and PhD degrees, the latter degree in Biology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Iowa. Her neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis fellowship training was under world-renowned MS clinical trialist Dr. Hillel Panitch at the University of Vermont, where she was previously an Assistant Professor in Neurology. Yang Mao-Draayer joined the Holtom-Garrett Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis Program at the University of Michigan in June 2012. She has been involved in many multi-centered clinical trials of new types of therapy in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Her laboratory research is directed at understanding the immunologic and neurobiologic pathogenesis of MS and NMO and applying novel therapeutics in these disorders.
